Smith (Co-President) MembershipAAUW welcomes and is open to all graduates who hold an associate, baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college, community col lege, or university. Student affiliation is available only to undergraduates. Annual dues through June 30, 2009—which are paid to the membership VP, are $80 for Regular Members, $17 for Student Affiliate Members, $31 for Life Members and $15 for Dual Members with AAUW-SF as their secondary branch. Fees are due June 30th each year. Please print the Membership Form fill it out and mail to AAUW-SF Educational FoundationThe AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education, research and self-development for women and girls, and to foster equity and positive societal change. Each year the foundation provides more than $3 million in fellowships and grants. Silver Jubilee FundAAUW-SF has scholarship funds available in the amount of $2,000 to upper division and graduate women who are within one year of completion of their courses of study. Legal Advocacy FundThe AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF) provides funding and a support system for women in higher education seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination. LAF is the nation’s largest legal fund focused solely on sex discrimination in higher education. Gender EquityThe Gender Equity chair and committee bring the gender equity research and activism of national down to the local level. Branch members are kept up-to-date with current research and issues. Community assistance is offered to local schools, agencies and other organizations to educate people on gender equity. Tech TrekThe Branch supports and sends girls entering the eighth grade to science camp at a local university for a week each summer. Sister-To-SisterThe Sister-to-Sister program which provides mentorship to local middle school girls. The program is recognized nationally by the AAUW and won a Heros in Education Award. The Heros award is given by the California lottery to volunteers who run special programs in the public schools.
